Genre research: Drama

 Common CAMS in Drama: There are many essential angles in films with a drama genre. One of the best camera shots for drama is a tilt angle, however, there are many others. Tilt angles help create a dramatic effect within a film and can bring out a series of different emotions. Other angles best used in a drama film are: wide angle, long shot, medium shot, close-up, extreme close-up.


 Common Sound in Drama: Sound is very important in dramatic films. Deep, slow sounds with a use of sad strings or low registers on an instrument can create an emotional monologue. It may also create suspense in the film.


 Common Mis-En-Scene (CLAMPS) in Drama: The main elements of Mis-En-Scene are: lighting, costuming, hair, and makeup. These are important because depending on what is happening in the drama, the characters may wear contrasting outfits or outfits that may represent how they're feeling.


Editing tactics in drama: one of the many editing techniques in drama films is the use of jump cuts which switch from scene to scene in fast-paced motion. this makes it so that the next shot adds upon the others and connects the film. Furthermore, fade in and fade outs give drama films a more dramatic transition to the next shot. By using this editing tactic, it also aids towards emphasizing dramatic heights in the movie. Finally, cross cutting is very common among drama films, either by showing two characters side of a story, or showing their emotional reactions to the same news, cross cutting allows the audience to gain a better perspective of both characters, that might have contrasting views on the subject.

Elements of drama that we like: A drama film tells a story like no other genre does, it hooks the audience on a level that's not just keeping them on their feet but enveloped in the story. We like that Drama tends to pull out ideas from real life events that could happen in anybodys life. This adds realism to a film and is our group's goal for ours. This is why we like this genre.

Elements of drama that don't appeal to us: Sometimes, if not done correctly Drama films can steer away from emotion, and goes towards depression, this can get quite morbid. Secondly, our group doesn't like when drama films get taken too far and can seem corny. This can be a problem because we want our audience to take our film seriously.

storyboard and scenes for the music video.

  Scene 1: In this scene, me and my group will film an actor, lying in bed as an alarm clock goes off, this is then when the song will start. this will be an extreme close up shot. Scene 2: After scene one, the next scene will take place in the kitchen of a group mates house, here breakfast will be served and it will start the day. breakfast will include items such ass eggs, bacon, and juice. this will be a eye level shot. that will pan into an extreme close up of the food. Scene 3: In scene 3, my group will film two actors walking around frost park talking, and simply catching up about their day, we will be sure to include happy facial expressions to show the meaning of the song. this will be a wide shot Scene 4: For scene 4, the basketball will be introduced, at the gateway of the basketball court at the park, where an actor will be questioning, "who will we playing basketball with today". this will also be a wide shot. Genre research : (comedy)

       The first genre that our group chose is comedy. Here are the common camera angles, mis-en-scene, sounds, editing. As well as some example films. Common Angles: There are many different angles that are widely used in the comedy genre. To start, commonly extreme close ups as well as close up shots are used. These shots are usually shown to help the audience understand or grasp on the humor portrayed by facial expressions, and reactions from the subjects on the film. Furthermore, other angles are widely seen in comedy, like wide shots. Wide shots are used mainly to fit a large gathering into one shot, and by doing this it opens the door to group comedy, and other characters to fit into the scene or story play.
