Short film: My first impression of this short film was a bit strange. I felt like the post-apocalyptic earth with mechanical creatures and animals made the film have a strange sci-fi feel. However, the meaning behind the plot regarding humans and machines, or what makes people alike in certain ways was shown when the other eight rag dolls emerged from the dead. The lack of speech or diction in this film also aided towards the meaning behind his film in regards to what makes us all alike. It is also cool to learn and relate to a character without even hearing them talk. Conventions used are an abundance of low and high angles, to show the antagonists power over 9, yet also eyeline shots are used to show emotion in such characters. Full length film: The full length film had much more character development, we were able to better understand who the characters were and how the emotional vulnerability aided towards the plot of the film.
