Overall thoughts and CCR reflection

1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? My product NIKE uses and challenges conventions by having certain topics, characters, a/nd important events. For example, our product, and commercial presents a plethora of topics like football, volleyball, and overall physical activity that convey conventions within our product. Also, my product is advertised with characters, actors that represent the company and NIKE clothing as sports wear, for physical activity. Finally, my product socially groups people together and influences them to take part in these activities with NIKE, hence, how it represents a social group while also presenting an influence on the issue of many people not being active. 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as real media text? My product engages with audiences by inspiring them, and motivating them to go outside, to be active, to be healthy of course, with NIKE wh

The final product

Today was the wrap up of my commercial assignment! I'm so proud of all my hard work, and my teammates and I did such a great job for my first time. This was definitely a great experience and something I would look forward too to do again. My favorite part of this experience was using everything I learned about film, like angles and editing uses and incorporating them into my project. I thought it was also so much fun to be active outside, and have fun while making a commercial about a product. I hope our commercial inspires people to be active with NIKE because at the end of the day that's the goal. Finally, i also loved editing the commercial. I thought it was neat to see all my working filming coming together into one piece of work. I'm excited to move on to the next project, and to keep updated and blogging. This is the final product!

Today was the second day of editing, and finishing up our commercial. I reviewed all that I had edited the day before. For the most part, the commercial was complete, however there were some minor touchups to make before I considered it done. To start, a couple clips seemed plain, and needed color saturation. I put filters on the clips that showed our actor outside. I also wanted to add saturation to a couple pictured that had been added so I did the same. Next, I also wanted to use a slow-motion clip, and the one that I had previously used didn't turn out as well as id liked. So, I re-added that clip, waited for it to register, and set the speed slightly faster until it was where I wanted it. Now I also wanted to add and incorporate more filters into our commercial. I was thinking of filters to use when I came across a comic-filter. I decided to use this filter on a picture where I showed our NIKE gear, to put contrast throughout the film. This filter came out really nice. I rea

Today was my second day of filming the commercial!! Today we were done with almost all of our clips. I simply looked back on what i, and my team had filmed from the day before. I noticed that a couple of the scenes weren't perfect and needed a second take. More specifically, the shots that i had filmed prior to today, were a bit blurry. further, some of the shots didn't even have the subject in the full frame! So, it was my job to re-film the subjects, our actor nick, throwing the football. I walked all the way back to the field, which was our initial film location. Next, i setup the camera and Nick, my actor in full frame. I also made sure that the camera was in focus which i didn't do the first time. Finally i told nick to throw the ball. Nick threw the ball, and i made sure that the camera had caught the ball in frame. This was very important to show how far the ball was thrown. Next, i check the film. It was perfect, not blurry and my actor, and football was in frame.

editing day!

Today was my first day of editing. all of my work and my teams work through filming our scenes from our storyboard was complete. All that was left to do was editing. I generally like editing, and I have past experience through editing specifically on I-movie. So, the first step was to gather all of my clips. My partner emailed me the clips from football, and volleyball and i simply put them together in a new "movie." Next, i picked out what transitions I wanted where the scenes and shots would change. I zoomed in on certain parts where my actor threw the football. I even slowed down the shots where our actors were throwing the football, and diving for the volleyball. I also cut and changed the angle of certain shots to give the illusion of a scene being overlooked by different angles. Next, it was time to add music. We agreed upon action, inspirational, and sporty music. So I found some non copywrite action commercial music that was perfect. I was able to add a fade in and
