Movie convention research: Spiderman: Far from home.

 There are many different distinct conventions in Far from home.  I watched the Far from home today since I am studying the thriller genre. The movie was very good and it helped me understand the conventions in thriller films. 

Conventions my group liked: One thing I noticed is that there was a lot of tracking shots tracking spider-man. It tracked him on the webs. Thriller movies track the main character so the audience doesn't lose attention of the main character, such as they did in Far from home. The sound in the movie was very mysterious, as something was about to happen. Since the villain in Far from home was Dr. Curt. Connors, they made the sound creepy every time he was present. I noticed in thrillers that the sound is very similar in all of them. Spider-man has his costume and the props he uses in the movie. I noticed in thriller that everyone has certain costumes and props to match what there character is. Peter Parker also gets many flashbacks to when he was a kid. He also gets flashbacks to the negative things that happened in his life. The flashbacks help the audience understand why Peter Parker acts the way he acts, and it makes the audience feel a certain way for him, such as feeling bad. Thrillers usually give flashbacks to the main characters past. The thing I like about Far from home is the flashbacks. In my thriller film, I want to give a flashback of why the main character acts the way he does.


 Conventions my group didn't like: I don't like tracking the whole time during the film because it can be distracting using too much. There was a lot that i did like in this film, although i felt that some of the special effects, editing, also seemed to be a bit much. So much so that it distracted me from the main fights between characters, i found myself focusing on the explosions more.

Conventions i would use in my film: Finally, in my film i would use tracking shots, because i saw how useful they can be in a hectic scene, i think that it would also be a great convention to use in our film.

storyboard and scenes for the music video.

  Scene 1: In this scene, me and my group will film an actor, lying in bed as an alarm clock goes off, this is then when the song will start. this will be an extreme close up shot. Scene 2: After scene one, the next scene will take place in the kitchen of a group mates house, here breakfast will be served and it will start the day. breakfast will include items such ass eggs, bacon, and juice. this will be a eye level shot. that will pan into an extreme close up of the food. Scene 3: In scene 3, my group will film two actors walking around frost park talking, and simply catching up about their day, we will be sure to include happy facial expressions to show the meaning of the song. this will be a wide shot Scene 4: For scene 4, the basketball will be introduced, at the gateway of the basketball court at the park, where an actor will be questioning, "who will we playing basketball with today". this will also be a wide shot. Genre research : (comedy)

       The first genre that our group chose is comedy. Here are the common camera angles, mis-en-scene, sounds, editing. As well as some example films. Common Angles: There are many different angles that are widely used in the comedy genre. To start, commonly extreme close ups as well as close up shots are used. These shots are usually shown to help the audience understand or grasp on the humor portrayed by facial expressions, and reactions from the subjects on the film. Furthermore, other angles are widely seen in comedy, like wide shots. Wide shots are used mainly to fit a large gathering into one shot, and by doing this it opens the door to group comedy, and other characters to fit into the scene or story play.
